In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the exact release dates for the new motor ships “Viktor Astafiev” and “Andrey Dubensky” have not yet been announced. Yulia Filatova, deputy head of the regional governor’s administration, spoke about this at a press conference in TASS.
According to her, the vessels are currently under construction. The process is difficult due to issues of import substitution and increasing complexity of technology.
“We are expecting them to expand the tourist flow, but for now the situation is difficult,” noted Yulia Filatova.
Now cruise tourism on the Yenisei is developing, but the region needs new ships. One of the main tourist routes is connected with the ship “Maxim Gorky”. After modernization, it operates on the Yenisei and can accommodate up to 94 passengers. According to Yulia Filatova, a cruise in the Krasnoyarsk Territory gives tourists an immersion in Siberian culture. However, Maxim Gorky remains an expensive entertainment, and the number of seats is limited. Also, the old passenger ships “Alexander Matrosov” and “Valery Chkalov”, built in the 1950s, continue to operate on the Yenisei. But they are not designed specifically for the tourist format.
At the same time, a pleasure fleet is developing in the region. Small boats and boat trips are becoming more popular, which shows the potential of the Yenisei for tourism.
Previously, the new motor ships “Andrey Dubensky” and “Viktor Astafiev” were planned to be brought to the Krasnoyarsk Territory in 2023. Later the deadlines were shifted. In 2025, it was reported that delivery had been postponed until at least 2026.
