The fight against forest fires continues in Abrau-Durso, Krasnodar
The fires on the territory of tourist centers in the Kuban have been extinguished, the spread of the fire has been stopped at area of 60 hectares.
According to the latest data, more than 500 vacationers at the recreation centers “Romantic”, “Sailor”, “Stroitel”, “Frigate”, “Energetik” and “Blue Wave” were evacuated. Two people were injured, about 70 buildings at recreation centers were damaged by fire. A state of emergency has been introduced in Novorossiysk.
The rescuers' work is complicated by heat and strong winds. 314 specialists and 84 units of special equipment are currently involved in extinguishing the fires; an additional Il-76 aircraft and two K-32 helicopters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been sent.
The animals of the reserves are also suffering from the fire: rescuers are pulling them out of dangerous places, but it is still unclear what to do with them next. A criminal case has been initiated into the fire.
