An assistant prosecutor in Krasnoyarsk pretended to be an Old Believer in order to save a girl whose father was going to treat her for cancer with herbs.
In 2022, Ivan Avlasevich received a call from the guardianship and was told that 14-year-old Nastya needed help. She suffered from bone cancer and was in the hospital, but her Old Believers parents were against medical intervention. Her dad wrote a refusal and took the child to the village of Kuromba, cut off from the mainland by water.
The prosecutor called the man, introduced himself as the head of the Old Believer community and stated that he had herbs that would help. I found out what car Nastya was being transported in, checked the license plates, called the taxi driver and asked for help. The driver played along and said that the car had broken down. Avlasevich and the traffic police caught up with the family, returned the girl to the hospital, and everything ended well. After the operation, the disease subsided.
