“A big disappointment, but Cristi is totally different! I don't want what I'm telling you to be hypocritical”

Răzvan Lucescu, the Romanian coach of PAOK, commented on the excellent course of Cristian Chivu in Italy at the helm of Inter.

Cristian Chivu won the event with Inter, and Răzvan Lucescu praised him. The coach from PAOK pointed out that the coach from Inter is different from the tacticians in Italy, and this is what gave him an advantage.

Răzvan Lucescu spoke about Cristi Chivu's performances: “Chivu is totally different. The big teams are the ones with identity and that's how he played”

“If I went to Italy, I would have an opportunity at the bottom of the ranking. I have to open a gate. I went to a small team in Greece and then the way was opened for me to PAOK. I can't talk about leaving. You don't know what happens in a year. A year is a lifetime in football.

To say that I thought he was going to do the event…I don't want it to be hypocritical. I know him. I know what human and professional value it has. I met him at the national team, he had personality.

He also had the chance to work with top coaches. He learned different methods, to manage the situations, but also the players. Some are more complicated, some less complicated.

What he has achieved at Parma plus Inter shows that he is a coach of value and talent. It's not just about Inter. It's a success to go there, to do the event, to impose yourself in front of some personalities, some extraordinary talents, to manage all these moments with a smile on your face, to have the ability to motivate them again after the Champions League final and after the dramatic loss of the championship last year. It's a big disappointment and he succeeded.

He created in a short time a compact group in Parma. There he showed his strong personality as a coach. He has an amazing career ahead of him. He also won the championship with Primavera.

The Italian championship is difficult, with tacticians. Each coach prepares and knows when the other coach's wife is sleeping, when they go to the bathroom, what they read. They know everything, but they do not organize the teams to play with identity. Everyone there plays according to the opponent. Maybe Conte is different. The others don't. Chivu is totally different. Great teams are those with identity. It is not for nothing that the Italians are unable to win anything. It's not for nothing that Italy is out of the World Championship three times”, said Răzvan Lucescu on the Fotbal Show show on Prima Sport.

I think we lack the fighter mentality. We give in to difficulties. Man in Parma gave way. It is a confirmation of what I say. He is a talented player. He showed fragility there. A Romanian coach comes with a special personality, who wants to give an identity and you give in, fall and abandon.
