Drăgusin and Tottenham, in the most important match of the season
Roberto De Zerbi's team missed the chance to solve the equation of salvation in the last leg, after the dramatic failure on the ground of Chelsea, score 1-2. Tottenham were once again embroiled in a major refereeing controversy after Micky van de Ven was clearly fouled in the box by Marc Cucurella, but the Londoners were not awarded a penalty as the ball was not in play at the time of the contact.
However, Tottenham remain favorites to save, especially thanks to their consistent goal difference advantage over West Ham. Basically, the only realistic scenario that sends them into the Championship is an Everton defeat combined with a Hammers win.
Tottenham, however, have had a nightmare season at home. The Londoners collected only 12 points at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, one of the worst statistics in the entire championship.
There are also reasons for optimism for De Zerbi's team. Dominic Solanke is almost fully recovered from his muscle injury and can return to the squad for the final leg. At the same time, Richarlison is having an excellent season and is coming off the back of his 11th Premier League goal against Chelsea.
Everton come without a stake, but can decide relegation
On the other hand, Everton has no more important goals in this end of the season. David Moyes' team is in 12th place and can no longer capture European cups, but can decisively influence the fight for salvation.
“Caramelele” is going through a poor period, without a win in the last six stages and with at least two goals conceded in each of the last five Premier League trips.
However, Moyes has announced that he will not be keeping players and that Everton will treat the game with the utmost seriousness. In addition, the former West Ham manager can indirectly influence the fate of his former team.
However, recent history is completely in Tottenham's favour. Spurs have won their last four straight home games against Everton by an emphatic 13-1 margin.
West Ham are hoping for a miracle
In parallel, West Ham receives the visit of Leeds and must win to hope for salvation. Nuno Espirito Santo's side are 18th and are coming off three straight defeats to Brentford, Arsenal and Newcastle.
The latest defeat, 1-3 at Newcastle, caused a wave of anger among supporters, who booed their own players and chanted against the team.
However, the Londoners hope that home ground advantage can make the difference. West Ham have lost just one of their last seven games at the London Stadium and have good results against teams in the bottom half of the table.
Leeds come without pressure and can become the “executioner” of West Ham
Leeds have had an excellent season for a newly-promoted side and sit 14th ahead of the final round. Daniel Farke's side are on an impressive eight-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
Furthermore, Leeds have already won at West Ham this season in the FA Cup and are now looking to complete the double against the Londoners for the first time since 2002/03.
Farke's squad has no more emotions about the rescue and can finish as high as 11th if the results of the last stage help them. In the previous stage, Leeds dramatically defeated Brighton, score 1-0, through the goal scored by Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 90th+6th minute.
