On Wednesday afternoon, Marius Baciu (51 years old) held the first training session in full form at FCSB, at the Berceni base, where he began the preparation for the fiery duel with FC Botoșani, from the semi-finals of the Conference League play-off.
Left out of the play-offs, the 2025 champion hopes to save the season and get the ticket for the Conference League preliminaries in the last hundred meters. With a new coach, appointed at the beginning of this week, the red-blue team must overcome FC Botoșani, first, on Sunday, from 20:30, then Dinamo, in the final of the pool.
Marius Baciu, the new A1 from FCSB, entered his role already on Tuesday, May 19, where he met half of the players he will work with, in the context in which those who performed on Monday in Sibiu received a day off. He held his first press conference on Wednesday afternoon as a coach at FCSB, then he had the first training session with the whole team, open to the media for the first 15 minutes.

At the beginning of the training, Marius Baciu gathered the players around him and gave them a speech of several minutes, in which he told them what he expected from them. It was for the first time that the red-blue team was fully under the command of Baciu.
During the speech, a serious rain started at the red-blue base, but without affecting the training.
Then, Baciu divided his players into two camps. Those who played with Hermannstadt started with a lighter warm-up, those who were not in Sibiu started a bit more intensively.
Baciu followed at the beginning between the two groups, together with Lucian Filip, the one who ensured the interim at FCSB after Rădoi's departure. Then, Baciu went to be closer to the first group, and Filip welcomed the rested players in the last match.
Marius Baciu's debut will be recorded on Sunday evening, at the “Steaua” stadium, in the match against FC Botoșani, vital for a ticket to Europe.
