Nicușor Dan calls the UPR, PACE and non-affiliated parliamentarians to Cotroceni for discussions

The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, called for Thursday, at the Cotroceni Palace, consultations with the parliamentarians from the United for Romania (UPR) parliamentary group, the PACE – First Romania parliamentary group and with non-affiliated elected officials, in the context of the country's economic and political situation, the Presidential Administration announced.
According to an announcement sent by the Presidential Administration, the consultations are organized “under the provisions of Article 80 paragraph (2) of the Romanian Constitution” and will take place according to a schedule established at the Cotroceni Palace.
Consultations will take place according to the following schedule:
- 09:00 – United for Romania parliamentary group;
- 10:00 a.m. – PACE Parliamentary Group – First Romania;
- 11:00 a.m. – Unaffiliated parliamentarians.
Monday was the first day of official consultations organized by the head of state in Cotroceni, where the representatives of the national minorities, PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR, AUR, POT and SOS Romania came in turn.
PNL and USR announced to the president when they will enter the opposition, AUR requested a mandate for the formation of the Government, and PSD resumed the two conditions for the future Government: without Ilie Bolojan as prime minister and the exclusion of an alliance outside pro-Western parties. POT called for a “pro-Western government”, while SOS Romania demanded the resignation of President Dan.
The head of state did not make statements after the consultations in Cotroceni that lasted 7 hours. “Each delegation presented its position, argued its constraints and stated under what conditions it would be willing to participate in the government or support a new Executive”, announced the president in a press release issued at the end of the consultations with the parliamentary parties.
