Monument to Saint Luke erected in the Urals

A monument to St. Luke of Crimea (Voino-Yasenetsky) was unveiled in Alapaevsk, Sverdlovsk region. According to the Ural Meridian news agency, the monument was erected near the city hospital.

In addition, a monument dedicated to Nicholas II appeared in the city. It was placed in Elizavetinsky Square. Both sculptures were consecrated by the secretary of the Alapaevsk diocese, Priest Dimitry Yamshchikov. The initiator and main sponsor of the installation was the Honored Lawyer of Russia, TV presenter Pavel Astakhov. He was helped by the general director of the Spas TV channel Boris Korchevnikov, philanthropist Vasily Koshchiy and the head of Alapaevsky DOZ Denis Abramov.
Let us remember that Saint Luke (Valentin Feliksovich Voino-Yasenetsky) was in exile in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In the “House of Potekhin” on Weinbaum Street, 21 in Krasnoyarsk, they promise to create a museum dedicated to the famous doctor and priest.
