Tottenham lost on the opponent's field Chelsea in the penultimate stage of the Premier League, score 1-2, and the fight for relegation fought from a distance with West Ham it extends to the last round.

Spurs needed a draw at Stamford Bridge to secure their place in the Premier League for next season, but Roberto De Zerbi's side failed to leave their London rivals unbeaten.

Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 18th minute with a superb strike from distance, after minutes earlier Mathys Tel missed a monumental opportunity for Tottenham, heading straight into the left post from six yards.

Enzo Fernandez came close to a 'double' in the 30th minute when he took a powerful free kick from the edge of the box, but his shot hit the crossbar.

Chelsea doubled their lead in the 67th minute when Andrey Santos beat Antonin Kinsky from a one-on-one.

Richarlison brought hope back to the Tottenham fans with a goal in the 74th minute. The Brazilian striker was at the right place and time to beat Robert Sanchez after the ball was played to him by Pape Matar Sarr.

James Maddison had an opportunity to restore parity in the 84th minute. The English midfielder broke into the box but chose to take an extra touch, allowing Hato to intervene in time to block the shot for a corner.
