Some of the grain spilled out. The world's largest producer of sunflower oil said that they were fired upon by the Russian Federation


On May 18, troops of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation attacked the Khmelnitsky region and damaged the elevator of the sunflower oil manufacturer Kernel. This was reported by the press service of the agricultural company.

The website states that the company is the world's largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil, as well as the largest exporter of grain in Ukraine.

The company said that grain storage tanks and warehouses were damaged as a result of the UAV hit. Due to the destruction, some of the grain spilled out.

No employees were injured.

The amount of losses has not yet been announced, as the extent of the damage is being determined and the consequences are being eliminated.

According to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on the night of May 18, Russian invaders used 524 drones to attack Ukraine. The head of the Khmelnitsky regional military administration, Sergei Tyurin, reported that 29 UAVs were shot down/suppressed in the region. He reported damage to two buildings at the enterprises, as well as fires.
