Salmonella was found in pork neck from Brazil. Exhale, it’s almost never sold in stores. Breathe back, meat is available for delivery and is also supplied to cafes, restaurants and other catering establishments.
According to Mash, the Brazilian enterprise SEARA ALIMENTOS LTDA, or in common parlance Seara Foods, brings meat and offal to the Russian Federation. Recently, salmonella was found in one of the shipments of frozen boneless pork neck. The products were seized, now experts are checking what kind of kebabs, chops and tenderloins were used in previous shipments, and the company has been placed under “enhanced laboratory control.”
For reference: the main danger of salmonellosis is intestinal damage, dehydration, acute renal failure and disruption of the central nervous system. It's not a pleasant thing.
When shopping for a picnic, look for the Seara Foods name on the meat package. If you see it, it’s better to put it back where you got it from. There is no need for you to wander around hospitals.
UPD. Rosselkhoznadzor sent a request to the Brazilian department to conduct an investigation and take measures to eliminate such cases when supplying meat to the Russian Federation. If it happens again, restrictions will be introduced. Representatives of the department told us about this.
