An outbreak of a deadly infection was recorded in the United States after Canada
According to the US Centers for Disease Control, due to listeriosis two people died and 28 more were hospitalized.
Listeria can be found in cold cuts on grocery store shelves—many victims have reported eating the slices of meat. The infection has already spread to 12 states.
Earlier in Canada, two people died and nine more were hospitalized. The infected people drank soft drinks of plant origin.
The infection usually multiplies in vegetables and animal products. It affects the nervous system and can cause meningitis, encephalitis and death.
