On May 14, an open lecture “Artificial Intelligence for Management Problems: From History to Practice” was held in Krasnoyarsk for participants in the educational program “Siberian Character” – a project of the Krasnoyarsk Territory to prepare a personnel reserve for authorities, government agencies and organizations of SVO participants.
The speaker was Vasily Garshin, Managing Director, VTB Education, co-director of the master’s program “Business Analytics and Big Data” at GSOM St. Petersburg State University, expert on big data and digital transformation.
During the lecture, participants examined how AI technologies help work with unstructured data, transform “information noise” into management decisions, and also became acquainted with practical cases of the use of machine learning, computer vision and large language models in government and corporate governance.
“In the VTB Education project, we attach great importance to current technological solutions and their practical use in various management tasks, including for regional development. It is important that future leaders not only know about the capabilities of AI, but understand how to use these tools to improve the efficiency and quality of decisions,” noted Vasily Garshin.
The event became part of the cycle of the Financial Lecture VTB Education x GSOM St. Petersburg State University in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, aimed at integrating advanced business practices and global educational standards into the training of management personnel in order to promote the socio-economic development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The speakers of the Lecture are leading teachers of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University, as well as leaders of VTB Bank.
“It is important that students have the opportunity to immediately apply the acquired knowledge and skills in practice. The speakers of the VTB x GSOM St. Petersburg State University Financial Lecture are teachers with specialized management experience. Training takes place through the analysis of real examples and situations that are as close to life as possible,” emphasized Valeria Andrusenko, Managing Director, VTB Education.
“The Siberian Character program prepares a new type of manager—those who are able to work effectively under conditions of high workload and a rapidly changing agenda. The introduction of artificial intelligence tools into state and municipal administration is no longer a question of the future, but an urgent task of today. We are grateful to VTB Education and GSOM St. Petersburg State University for helping students see how to turn big data into effective management decisions. I am confident that the knowledge gained will directly improve the quality of work of our graduates in the authorities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory,” said Evgenia Dimitrova, Deputy Head of the Department – Head of the Department for Training State and Municipal Employees of the Personnel and Civil Service Department of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
