The scenarios circulated by the Minister of Defense in the case of the missile found in Tulcea: “I have never encountered such situations before”

The interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, said that on Monday morning he will receive a report from the relevant authorities regarding the unguided reactive projectile that was found this weekend in the yard of an uninhabited property in the town of Pardina.

The minister stated that the unguided rocket was taken over by the authorities on Saturday evening.

“It was not possible to go with the helicopter because of the weather. It is an unguided reactive projectile, it is not directed from the ground from somewhere. We have never encountered such situations before. Analyzes are being carried out to try to identify the source of this projectile. Such a projectile cannot be seen on the radar, on which trajectory it is going and at what speed it is going, compared to its dimensions”, he explained, on Sunday evening, at TVR Info.

“There are all kinds of scenarios”

Radu Miruță said that there are “all kinds of scenarios”, but he does not want to comment on them “until they are validated”. Even so, he listed a few possibilities.

“It may have fallen from a drone carrying such a projectile, it may have fallen from the wing of a fighter plane beyond the border of Romania. Let's first see what the specialists say! That there are intersections with very different destinations, was it Ukrainian, was it Russian, was it an anti-hail missile? Because initially, from the pictures that my colleagues analyzed, there was quite a similarity with what is being fired, with anti-hail missiles”, he concluded the official.

The Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that an unguided reactive projectile, loaded with two kilograms of explosives, was found in the yard of an uninhabited property in Pardina, Tulcea county.

An unguided rocket is an unguided missile, usually from artillery, but can also be launched from helicopters or attack aircraft. It generally has a short range of 3-4 kilometers, and the Romanian Army frequently uses such ammunition in exercises.
