The Romanian who composed the song with which Bulgaria won Eurovision: “We can say that we won twice”

“I cried for I think about 10 minutes, my phone was out of battery, but when I turned the phone on, it exploded,” he says the Constantinian musician Cristian Tarcea, known as Monoir, who composed the song with which Bulgaria won Eurovision for the first time.
The Romanian producer said, for Antena3 CNN, that he did not expect this victory:
“An incendiary evening, I say good for Romania, from any point of view you want to take it. It was incredible what happened last night, I did not expect it, I had 0 expectations and I tried to enjoy the moment, to be happy that Romania is there and to be happy that I am also indirectly with Bulgaria's piece.
First of all, I cried for I think about 10 minutes. I had no battery on my phone for an hour, and when I turned on the phone, it exploded, I was shocked. People wrote to me from whom I did not expect, great artists from us, it seemed extraordinary to receive support from them”.
He said that he also managed to speak with Alexandra Căpitănescu, who brought Romania 3rd place at Eurovision 2026.
“We can say that I won twice. I won once with a very good artistic moment and with a very good song that came in 3rd place, or some consider that in 2nd place. I think it should have been in 2nd place, or maybe even 1st and, on the other hand, I won with a man who is also Romanian, and who participated in another country's song”, Cristian Tarcea also declared for Antena 3.
