Emma Răducanu (23 years old, 30 WTA) rehired Andrew Richardson, the coach who helped her establish herself in 2021, at the US Open. The first tournament for which the Briton will be prepared by Richardson will be the one in Strasbourg next week.
Emma Răducanu has had a complicated year, having to withdraw from several tournaments due to health problems. Therefore, the 23-year-old player could not build on the success of the Transylvania Open, where she qualified for the final, being defeated by Sorana Cîrstea.

The world number 30 shocked the tennis world in 2021 when he managed to win the US Open at just 18 years old. She was trained at the time by Andrew Richardson, who accompanied her on a longer tour of the United States.

Despite the success at the US Open, Răducanu made the surprising decision to give up Richardson's services and change his team. The player with a Romanian father and a Chinese mother did not perform at the expected level in the following years, the final at the Transylvania Open being the first final she reached after the one at Flushing Meadows.
The first tournament for which Răducanu will be prepared by Richardson will be the one in Strasbourg. The WTA 500 tournament will start on May 17 and end on May 23, just before the start of Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam tournament of the year.
