David Beckham became the first British sportsman to become a billionaire

David Beckham (51) has become Britain's first billionaire sportsman, with an estimated fortune of £1.185 billion, along with his wife Victoria.
Among the personalities from the world of sports, he rose to second place in the ranking, the leader being the former boss of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclestone, with a fortune estimated at two billion pounds. Beckham ended his playing career in 2013 and is currently the co-owner of American soccer club Inter Miami, according to AFP.
In addition, he is an ambassador for several sports and fashion brands. His wife Victoria, a former member of the Spice Girls, is in a similar situation.

David Beckham was one of the most popular footballers of the 2000s, a fact that attracted him numerous sponsorships. With his retirement from football, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder got involved in several businesses.
David Beckham joined Manchester United's academy in 1991. Apart from a brief loan spell at Preston in 1995, Beckham made 394 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, scoring 85 goals and providing 122 assists.
In total, Beckham won 14 trophies during his time at Old Trafford, including a Champions League and 6 Premier League titles.
In the summer of 2003, David Beckham was transferred by Real Madrid for the sum of 37.5 million euros and left the “galacticos” for free 4 years later, signing in the MLS, with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
During this time, Beckham also played at AC Milan on loan, and in 2012 he was free of contract at PSG, from where he retired in 2013. Beckham also has 115 caps for England's first team, for which he scored 17 goals.
