The tensions at CFR Cluj continue to grow, with only two stages before the end of the play-off. Boss Ioan Varga launched a new harsh attack on coach Daniel Pancu, after the technician had set conditions to continue on the team's bench from next season as well.
The conflict broke out after the white draw between the University of Craiova and CFR Cluj, score 0-0, following statements that raised tensions within the club. Although Iuliu Mureșan gave assurances that the technician would remain “2 million percent” in Gruia, Pancu raised several conditions for the continuation of the collaboration, including the payment of daily wages, the modernization of the training base and the strengthening of the team through important transfers.
Varga, direct attack on Pancu: “He's an idiot!”
Ioan Varga reacted firmly to Daniel Pancu's latest statements, claiming that he is not satisfied with his position and the discussions held regarding the future.
“For now it's Pancu, so it's only guesses. Face to face with me he guaranteed me 200 times that he is not leaving, that he wants to stay and I got angry after his last statement. If that's the problem, don't worry, we have 7 coaches waiting, we're not after you.
He's a jerk! After I gave you power and conditions and you say you want I don't know what… With these conditions championships were won, not with others!”, declared Ioan Varga, according to monitorulcj.ro.

At the moment, CFR Cluj occupies the 3rd place in the play-off, with 41 points, and is close to ensuring its presence in the European cups.
Dan Petrescu, the first option for CFR
Ioan Varga also spoke about the option to replace Pancu, and the first option remains Dan Petrescu, coach with four mandates at CFR Cluj.
“Dan Petrescu has always been number one, so we can understand each other. He left because he was sick, not for any other reason. If he was healthy, he was a coach.
It's better now, I also met him. Now he has the last treatments he has to do, I hope that in 2-3 weeks he will be fresh. If it's fresh, it will definitely be him! If not, we move on“, Varga also said, according to the cited source.
