Most Russians support strict fines for throwing trash out of a car window

Three quarters of Russians (76%) approve of the large fines in force in Russia for throwing garbage out of a car window, according to survey data* from the Research Center of the SuperJob.ru portal.
Now fines amount to up to 15 thousand rubles. for individuals and up to 50 thousand rubles. for legal entities.
Women support such fines more often than men. 79% of women and 73% of men were in favor of tough measures. At the same time, men were more likely to oppose such punishments.
9% were against such fines, another 15% found it difficult to answer. In the comments, opponents of fines noted that the problem needs to be solved not only by punishments, but also by organizing the collection, sorting and disposal of waste.
Also, some respondents believe that such violations should be recorded by cameras. Drivers support fines slightly more than pedestrians. Among motorists, 77% were in favor of such measures, and among those who do not drive, 72%.
The survey was conducted from April 15 to April 30, 2026 in 395 localities in Russia. 1,600 economically active Russians over 18 years old took part in it.
