Night airport closures and alarms. Ukrainian drones paralyzed Russia


Ukrainian drones are increasingly paralyzing Russian airspace and attacking deep inside the country. Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that “the conflict with Kiev is coming to an end,” although the attacks do not stop.

“The Moscow Times reported that Ukrainian retaliation against energy infrastructure, military facilities and transport hubs in Russia is forcing the authorities to restrict school operations, periodically close airports, suspend public events and tighten security measures.

In turn, journalist Piotr Kaszuwara reported that Kiev sent at least 250 combat drones towards Russia on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. “A night of air battle lies ahead of us,” he wrote on the X website.

Alarms in Russia

Alarms about possible attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles were reported, among others, in the following oblasts: Ryazan, Orlov, Vladimir, Lipetsk, Moscow, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Rostov, Samara, North Ossetia, Mordova region, Penza, Stavropol Krai, the Republic of Kabardo-Balkaria.

Restrictions have also been introduced at airports in the cities of Penza, Nizhny Novgorod, Gelendzhik, Volgograd, Tambov, Kaluga, Yaroslavl, Saratov, Moscow (Domodedovo, Vnukovo). In turn, traffic on the Crimean Bridge was temporarily suspended and the airspace over the Saratov Oblast was completely closed.

In Krasnodar, a drone was shot down and fell on the premises of one of the enterprises. As a result of the incident, one person was injured and a fire broke out at the scene, TASS reports.

Fire in Moscow

Earlier, a fire broke out in Moscow, the cause of which was not disclosed by the services. According to “Kommersant”, the fire spread in the east of the capital in a “metal structure building” where car services and a sports school are located. In the immediate vicinity there is the Stalin Bunker Museum and the Izmaylovsky Kremlin cultural and entertainment complex, popular among Russians.

Fire and rescue units were on site. “More than 140 people and 30 teams are taking part in the firefighting operation. Helicopters of the Moscow Aviation Center have been put on alert,” the Moscow authorities said.
