Alexandra and Julianne Duckadam were present at the “Steaua” stadium at FCSB – Union Sloboziathe last stage of round #8 of the Superleague play-out.
The wife of the late Helmut Duckadam also met with FRF official Mihai Stoichiță.

After Alexandra Duckadam (wife) and Julianne Duckadam (daughter) were present in Seville, right in front of the stadium, on the evening of May 7, in which the former great goalkeeper became a legend, just a few days apart the two were present at the “Steaua” stadium in Ghencea, at FCSB – Unirea Slobozia.
There, Alexandra, the late goalkeeper's wife, also met with Mihai Stoichiță, the technical director of the Romanian Football Federation.

Helmut Duckadam, the legendary goalkeeper known as the “Hero of Sevilla”, passed away on December 2, 2024, at the age of 65. The cause of death was severe cardiac complications, arising from earlier health problems.

In the European Champions Cup final in Seville in 1986, Helmut Duckadam made football history after saving four consecutive penalties in a final, right in front of Barcelona players.
After 120 goalless minutes, the final was decided on penalty kicks and Duckadam stopped Alexanko, Pedraza, Pichi Alonso and Marcos in turn. Thanks to his incredible interventions, Steaua Bucharest won the trophy and became the first team from Eastern Europe to win the European Champions Cup, the current Champions League.
The performance earned the Romanian goalkeeper a place in the Book of Records and the nickname “The Hero of Sevilla”. The late Duckadam was also the image president of FCSB in the period 2010-2020, a team he considered the successor of the historic Steaua team.
