The reaction of the Spanish press after Barcelona won the title in the match against Real Madrid
Marca, Spain's most important sports daily, headlined: “One team is a champion, the other is in ruins“.
The Spanish have written before: “Barcelona are the champions of the league! Euphoria breaks out on the pitch at Camp Nou. All the players gather in the middle of the pitch, celebrating in chorus.”
Mundo Deportivo chose a simpler title: “The boat, champion!!!“. Journalists also noted: “league champions for the second consecutive year. Hansi Flick's side had won two Supercup finals and a Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.
A championship title was still missing and it finally arrived, in a magical and passionate Camp Nou. A draw would have been enough, and this advantage allowed Barcelona to manage the game well, without adding salt to Real Madrid's wounds, after the two goals in the first half, two spectacular shots by Rashford and Ferran Torres”.
AS chose the title “Aliron (Spanish victory song and cry) for history“.
The Iberians also scored: “Barca have the title of champion on their record, and Real Madrid suffered a double punishment: losing by an almost embarrassing points difference and having to watch their rivals' festivities as mere spectators.”
