Trump says US needs “two more weeks” to eliminate all Iranian targets

The United States only needs “two more weeks” to achieve all its targets in Iran, US President Donald Trump claimed in an interview recorded this week and broadcast on Sunday, reports AFP.
Asked by independent journalist Sharyl Attkisson, the US president repeated the idea that the Iranians had been “defeated militarily” and took the opportunity to once again criticize his NATO allies, calling the North Atlantic Alliance a “paper tiger”.
The publication of this interview comes in the context in which Iran just announced on Sunday that it has sent a response to the latest American proposal aimed at ending the conflict started by Israel and the United States on February 28.
“They're defeated militarily, maybe they don't realize it, but I think they know it,” assured Donald Trump, who then added: “That doesn't mean they've had the last word.”
He hinted that the US military could “remain on the ground for another two weeks to hit all targets”.
“We had certain targets in mind and we probably hit 70% of them, but there are others that we could still hit and this would just be the final straw,” Trump said.
He also reiterated his opinion of NATO, which he again compared to a “paper tiger”, complaining that his allies “were not there to help”.
