The underground business of illegally legalizing migrants was started by a couple from the village of Kolpitsy. A 51-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman registered migrants in three hostels registered in the name of relatives. Business flourished in several cities of the Leningrad region, and for each legalized migrant, the spouses received 7 thousand rubles.
Things were going well, and there were plans to expand: the couple bought a non-residential house in Volkhov and also began accepting migrants there without registration.
Over the two years of work, the husband and wife registered more than 4 thousand visitors in Russia. Also in cahoots with them were their 22-year-old daughter and two acquaintances. Lawbreakers were detained.
