Manchester City comfortably beat Brentford 3-0 in the 36th round of the Premier League and continue their title fight with Arsenal.

After a modest first half, in which Pep Guardiola's side struggled to build and create chances, the English champions completely changed the tempo after the break.

Manchester City beat Brentford 3-0 and keep Arsenal close

Jeremy Doku started the recital. The in-form Belgian broke the deadlock in the 60th minute with a spectacular individual move down the left flank and a powerful shot into the short corner.

City then completely controlled the game, and Erling Haaland provided the phase of the evening in the 75th minute. The Norwegian striker took advantage of the crowd in the box and scored spectacularly with his heel.

The final score was established by Omar Marmoush, who scored in the end after a decisive pass provided by Haaland himself. The Egyptian calmly finished past Brentford goalkeeper Kelleher.

Brentford, no reaction

The away side had few moments to really trouble City's defence. The biggest chance came in the first half, at 0-0, when Igor Thiago excellently released Kevin Schade in a one-on-one situation with Donnarumma.

However, Matheus Nunes had a saving intervention, coming back spectacularly and blocking the phase at the last moment.

Success keeps Manchester City in the race for another Premier League title. Arsenal still have a two-point lead and still have games against West Ham, Burnley and Crystal Palace to play.

On the other hand, City still have to play the arrears against Crystal Palace, then a complicated trip to Bournemouth and a final match at home with Aston Villa.
