The 2026 World Championship, organized in the United States, Canada and Mexico, promises to be the most spectacular in history. FIFA is preparing not one, but three opening ceremonies, one for each host country, and some of the biggest names in world music will take to the stage.

According to information published by The Athletic, each host country will have its own show before the inaugural match. In addition, the world forum is also preparing special events dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States.

Katy Perry, Michael Buble and Alanis Morissette confirmed for final tour

The first match of the World Cup will be played on June 11, 2026, at the Azteca stadium, where the Mexican national team will open the competition against the representative team from South Africa.

For the opening ceremony, FIFA has already prepared concerts performed by Mana, Los Angeles Azules, Alejandro Fernandez, Belinda and Tyla. Canada will take the stage on June 12, in Toronto, and the organizers have already confirmed the presence of famous artists such as Michael Buble, Alanis Morissette and Alessia Cara.

Also on June 12, the United States national team will debut at SoFi Stadium, and the headliner of the show will be Katy Perry.

FIFA is also preparing special events for the USA's anniversary

In addition to the three opening ceremonies, FIFA will organize special moments dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States.

Thus, on July 4, 2026, before two matches of the round of 16 scheduled in Philadelphia and Houston, thematic ceremonies dedicated to American history will take place.

According to international media, FIFA is still working on how the United States' story will be presented at these events. Shakira will also return to the final tournament in 2026. The Colombian artist officially announced that the song “Dai Dai” will be the anthem of the competition organized in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

It is the star's third collaboration with FIFA, following the huge success of “Waka Waka” at the 2010 World Cup and “La La La”, the 2014 edition. The new track, inspired by reggaeton and Afrobeats, will be officially released on May 14 and will be part of the global promotion campaign for the 2026 World Cup.
