US President Donald Trump said that he is ready to send his team to the capital of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Moscow, to negotiate peace in Ukraine. He said this during a briefing on May 9, the video was published by FOX.
According to the head of the White House, he would take such a step because he strives for a cessation of hostilities and believes that diplomatic efforts can be effective.
“I would do it if I thought it would help. I would like to see this war end,” Trump said.
He once again emphasized that he had already participated in the resolution of several international conflicts and now, in his opinion, there is a chance for another, 10th potential settlement.
Trump called the Russian-Ukrainian war “terrible,” which, according to his estimates, leads to the death of 25 thousand military personnel every month. He stated that he would like to see it completed as soon as possible.
The Kremlin commented on Trump’s statement. The press secretary of the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, said that Moscow is not currently preparing trips for Trump’s representatives, in particular his special envoy Steve Witkoff, as quoted by the Russian propaganda agency TASS.
