Nicușor Dan, after the first consultations at Cotroceni: “There are scenarios we are focusing on”
President Nicusor Dan announced on Saturday that he had concluded “a first set of meetings” with the leaders of pro-Western parties and representatives of national minorities, pointing out that “there is agreement on the big policies” and “the scenarios we will focus on further”.
President Dan, in a message sent live from Cotroceni, on Europe Day, said that he saw, during the meetings with the party leaders, “the constraints that each of the parties has”.
“A few words about the current situation. We concluded a first set of meetings with the leaders of the pro-Western parties, representatives of the national minorities. We saw, on this occasion, the constraints that each of the parties has and with which they come to the negotiation that is starting, so there are some scenarios that we will focus on and the discussions will continue on these scenarios”, declared Nicușor Dan.
The President reaffirmed that “Romania will have a pro-Western Government in a reasonable time”.
“There is agreement on the big policies – OECD, SAFE, PNRR. There is agreement on Romania's assumed fiscal trajectory and in this sense the incoming Government will aim to define and propose to the Parliament the budget for 2027 by the autumn”, declared Nicuşor Dan.
President Nicușor Dan began informal consultations on Wednesday with the leaders of the parties that formed the Bolojan Government, one day after he was dismissed by PSD-AUR's censure motion.
