In honor of Victory Day, the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory launched a new project – “Heroes of my family”.
In it, regional deputies will share the stories of their loved ones who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and forged Victory in the rear. Some served in the women's battalion, others went on reconnaissance missions or went through the horrors of captivity.
“My grandmother Ekaterina Petrovna Rudova was a truck driver during the war, and after the war she prepared sites for the Yalta Conference. She learned to operate Lend-Lease equipment and served as a driver in the women's battalion. My grandmother told me how they, the girls, drove huge Studebakers, placing wooden blocks on the pedals to reach the gas and brakes,” said Speaker of Parliament Alexey Dodatko.
She ended the war in Crimea and was a participant in the Yalta Conference, being in the support services that prepared the platforms for negotiations between the leaders of the anti-Hitler powers.
In addition to Alexey Dodatko, 12 more deputies shared their family stories: Yuri Adamenko, Alexander Novikov, Sergei Sizonenko, Dmitry Sviridov, Egor Vasiliev, Maxim Zolotukhin, Alexey Kulesh, Irina Subocheva, Dmitry Dmitriev, Alexander Ratakhin, Vera Oskina and Sergey Gorbunov.
