Robert Fico arrived in Moscow. “I am a black sheep in the European Union”

Fico emphasized that he considers himself a politician for whom dialogue is more important than strong words. — I care about normal, friendly and standard relations between the Russian Federation and the Slovak Republic, he said.

He added that he is the black sheep in the European Union. — I am opposed to the only valid view. I believe this approach is very inappropriate. I often express opinions that do not correspond to the only correct political view that we should represent, he explained.

As the Slovak Prime Minister pointed out, many European politicians were interested in his trip to Moscow. According to Slovak Deputy Foreign Minister Rastislav Chovanc, Fico may have a message from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with whom he spoke earlier this week in Yerevan.

Robert Fico in Moscow. “We need to talk”

— The key word is dialogue. We need to talk and meet. I am an absolute supporter of all forms of truce. I think it makes a hundred times more sense to fight this fight at the negotiating table. I want to express my belief that we are approaching the end of this Russian-Ukrainian history, Fico said, answering the question what is the main message he wants to convey to Putin.

The Slovak plane reached Moscow on Friday via a roundabout route. He flew through the Czech Republic, Germany and Scandinavian countries. The Baltic countries closed their airspace to it. It was similar a year ago, when Fico, as the only representative of the European Union, participated in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the USSR and the anti-Hitler coalition in World War II.
