Both shelters were engulfed in fire and burned down, according to Suceava News.

Military firefighters from the Rădăuți Detachment intervened to put out the fire, supported by the Voluntary Services for Emergency Situations teams from Frătăuții Vechi, Frătăuții Noi and Gălăneşti. In total, five fire trucks were mobilized to the scene.

According to ISU Suceva, the fire completely engulfed the two shelters, and crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings in the area.

We remind you that, last year, also in Suceva county, another large-scale fire broke out at an animal shelter, in the village of Probota (Dolhasca – Suceva). The flames consumed the roof of the building, and 15 pigs perished in the fire. The owner suffered burns to his hands and neck.

In 2024, several pigs were burned alive, following a fire that broke out at an animal shelter in the town of Şebiș in Arada.
