SAFE Fund. Poland will sign an agreement for EUR 43 billion

These funds will finance over 120 defense-related projects, including new contracts and annexing existing contracts. The companies of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) will earn the most from this program, but other Polish companies, such as Grupa WB, will also benefit.
According to the daily, the Regulation of the Council of the European Union regarding loans from the SAFE Instrument was adopted almost a year ago, but only now have negotiations on the detailed terms of the agreement been completed.

Poland first
Poland will be the first EU country to sign the document, which opens the way to financing key defense projects. The first tranche of funds, amounting to 15%. the entire amount, is to reach Poland in May.
The biggest beneficiary of the program will be companies from the Polish Armaments Group. “The most important projects include the purchase of the San anti-drone system, the value of which is approximately PLN 15 billion. Although the key foreign partner will be the Norwegian Kongsberg, responsible for supplying the turrets, a significant part of the contract will be carried out by Polish companies,” writes “Rz”.
Another project that will be annexed is the construction of the Ratownik ship, carried out by PGZ Stocznia Wojenna. The value of this contract exceeds PLN 1 billion. The newspaper indicates that the contract for the supply of field sanitary equipment produced by AMZ Kutno, whose value is over PLN 800 million, is also to be annexed. However, the list of contracts that will be covered by SAFE financing will be much longer, and the total value of the annexed projects may reach several dozen billion PLN.
The daily reminds that 18 other countries also take out loans from the SAFE program. “The main assumption of this program is to make purchases together. This opens up an opportunity for Polish companies to export,” concludes “Rzeczpospolita.”
