Krasnoyarsk owner of a thrift store illegally issued microloans

7 May 18:00

In Krasnoyarsk, after an inspection by the prosecutor's office, an illegal pawnshop operating under the guise of a consignment store was closed.

As the press service of the supervisory agency said, in the Oktyabrsky district, an entrepreneur opened a thrift store “We Take Everything”, where, in addition to accepting things for sale, he gave out money as security for property. However, he did not have the necessary license for such activities.

Customers were issued pledge tickets and issued loans at 0.7% per day – that’s more than 255% per annum.

Violations were first discovered in January 2025. Then the prosecutor's office opened an administrative case under the article on illegal activities in providing consumer loans. The entrepreneur was fined 30 thousand rubles, after which he stopped issuing loans.

However, a year later the store began to work again according to the same scheme. During the repeated inspection, prosecutors seized new bail tickets and opened another administrative case for a repeated violation.

The court fined the entrepreneur 50 thousand rubles. After that, he gave up illegal activities. Now the store only accepts items for sale, without issuing loans against collateral.
