The notorious former editor-in-chief of the Vedomosti newspaper Andrei Shmarov has died – the journalist was found unconscious in his Moscow apartment. The man had a stroke.
According to Mash, the businessman lay on the floor for several hours. He was first discovered by his guardian, who came to the apartment on July 1. An ambulance was called for Shmarov, and doctors took him to intensive care with a stroke and broken ribs. There, the ex-chief editor died without regaining consciousness – on July 16 at 18:40.
Andrey Shmarov headed the editorial office of Vedomosti for more than a year. During his leadership, about 10 employees left the publication, including the heads of three departments. The media also attributed to him an affair with the famous blogger Lena Miro, calling him the author of her texts.
