In Krasnoyarsk, a father of two children paid off a million-dollar alimony debt after the initiation of a criminal case. This was reported in the press service of the GUFSSP for the region.

Enforcement proceedings were carried out in the department of bailiffs for the collection of alimony payments. According to the court decision, the man was obliged to transfer 20 thousand rubles monthly: 10 thousand for each of his two children. However, the would-be father ignored his parental responsibilities and was in no hurry to help his children financially. Despite the decision to foreclose on wages, the debt grew and exceeded 1 million rubles.

First, administrative measures were applied to the debtor. For non-payment of alimony, employees of the enforcement authorities drew up a protocol against him under Art. 5.35.1 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The court sentenced the man to 50 hours of compulsory work, but even after that the situation with payments did not change.

As a result, the bailiff initiated an audit of the accounting department at the debtor’s place of work: the man held the position of director in one of the local companies.

“The results of the audit showed that funds were deliberately not transferred to pay alimony, despite the order to seize wages – the negligent father deliberately deprived his children of financial assistance. For violating the legislation on enforcement proceedings, the organization was fined 20 thousand rubles under Art. 17.14 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation,” said the press service of the GUFSSP for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Having identified signs of a crime, the investigator opened a criminal case under Art. 157 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children without good reason).

After realizing the real threat of imprisonment, the debtor took measures to pay alimony. During the consideration of the case in court, the man fully repaid the million-dollar alimony debt, and also paid the enforcement fee – 120 thousand rubles.

The money was transferred to the claimant, the children’s rights to decent maintenance were restored.
