In Krasnoyarsk, a man will go to trial for stealing things from a new acquaintance, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region said.
In March last year, the police department received a message from a resident of the regional center. He told law enforcement officers that a stranger had stolen his personal belongings from his home. During operational actions, police established the location of the attacker. He turned out to be a previously convicted 37-year-old man.
The police found out that the day before the victim met the accused on the street and invited him to “celebrate a great day” in some establishment. Together they went to the applicant's house to change his clothes. But instead, the man, being heavily intoxicated, simply fell asleep. The attacker, taking advantage of the situation, took the gold ring off his new acquaintance’s finger and left the room.

In addition, the accused took from the apartment a laptop worth 13 thousand rubles, a winter jacket, trousers, a sweater and genuine leather sneakers. Later, he sold all the stolen items at the market and spent the proceeds on personal needs. The total amount of damage amounted to more than 37 thousand rubles.
A criminal case was opened against the attacker under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”. Now the man faces up to 5 years in prison.
The investigation has been completed. The accused is under recognizance not to leave the place and of proper behavior.
