Tragic ending for a 4-year-old child reported missing in Vrancea. The boy was found dead in a lake, one kilometer from the place of disappearance
A 4-year-old child from Suraia commune, Vrancea county, was found dead in an undeveloped pond, shortly after his mother announced his disappearance.

Sunday, May 3, brought a terrible tragedy to a family from Suraia commune, Vrancea county, where a child of only 4 and a half years was found dead in a puddle on the outskirts of the town, shortly after he had been reported missing.
According to IPJ Vrancea, the little boy disappeared from a home where he was visiting, his mother being the one who noticed his absence and alerted the authorities around 3:25 p.m.
After the call to 112, an extensive search operation was immediately launched in the area. The action was attended by police, gendarmes and firefighters, supported by local authorities and volunteers, who checked the surroundings in an attempt to find the child as quickly as possible.
After about an hour, the minor was discovered in an undeveloped pond, located about 1-1.5 kilometers from the place where he had disappeared. He was immediately pulled out of the water and the emergency teams began resuscitation maneuvers until the ambulance arrived.
Despite the efforts made, the medical staff from the ambulance that also arrived at the scene in the meantime could not do anything more, declaring the child dead.
His body was transported to the forensic medicine, where the exact cause of death is to be determined, and the authorities opened an investigation to reconstruct all the circumstances of the tragedy and a case of manslaughter.
It is the second case this day in which an unsupervised child ends tragically, after in a village in Dolj a one-year-old and four-month-old child drowned in the swimming pool in his maternal grandparents' yard.
