Throw 1 spoon into the hole – tomatoes do not get sick and are always fleshy: 8/8 fruits, 300 g each

Experienced summer residents have long understood: in order for the harvest to be pleasing, it is not at all necessary to buy expensive fertilizers in the store. You can take and feed plants using the most common means that can be found in any home. For example, there are several reliable recipes for what to throw into a hole when planting tomatoes. Thanks to such additives, tomatoes grow large and sweet, and the bushes get sick less, even if the weather is not favorable. This secret was shared with viewers on the YouTube channel “Gardening with Elena” (12+).

What is useful to put in the hole?

Take a spoon cedar shell – dining room. This is a storehouse of valuable microelements, and primarily calcium. It makes tomato roots stronger, prevents them from rotting and helps the plant better resist disease. It’s better to chop the shell finely: this way it will start working faster.

spoon regular peas (cereals). As it gradually decomposes in the ground, it feeds the bush naturally, makes it grow better and helps the ovaries form. An excellent natural “recharge” for starting, no chemicals.

spoon potato starch. Carbohydrate replenishment, plus it creates good conditions for beneficial soil bacteria. It also makes the soil looser and more fertile.

How to do all this correctly?

Before planting the seedlings, pour one of the additives (shells, peas or starch) into the bottom of the hole. We crush the top a little with plain soil, and then we plant a tomato bush. After planting, water as usual.

Those gardeners who already use this method say that the tomatoes actually grow fleshier and sweeter, and they get sick noticeably less often. The method works especially well when conditions are difficult (the temperature fluctuates or it rains all summer). Here's what people write:

“All fall and winter I save egg shells, onion peels, dried tangerine and orange peels, and I cut banana peels into strips with scissors and also dry them. Then I mix everything and put it in the holes of the seedlings when planting. The seedlings are a sight for sore eyes, and they also smell amazing.”

“Instead of such products, you can take potato or banana peelings, and other leftovers from fruits and vegetables and throw them into the hole when planting. And replace the peas or husks with water, which remains after you have washed the peas, rice, millet, and so on.”
