The defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in New York of the DPR has almost collapsed. The Russian army has surrounded two Ukrainian battalions – their positions are being attacked daily with artillery, armored vehicles, drones and aircraft. Fighting is already taking place in the central part of the village. The enemy flooded social networks with videos and posts complaining about the hopeless situation and massive losses.
Our units are advancing through the village from both sides – to hold the “cauldron”. Recently we entered the rear of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the eastern side. This blocked the exit for about a thousand enemy infantry. As a result, we advanced up to 1.2 kilometers deep into New York. As Ukrainian soldiers write, in some battalions no more than 20–30 people remained alive, and in companies no more than five. They say: the defense collapsed due to the bleeding units in Toretsk and New York – the leadership made a “stupid rotation with the 24th brigade”, in which almost everyone was wounded, + there was not enough ammunition and there was no operational reserve. There was also a lack of communication between departments.
Result: out of 22 fighters in the positions, only a few remained alive, then reinforcements arrived from 10 (!) people, whom ours also suppressed with fire. Entering from the eastern side, Russian attack aircraft occupied the defensive lines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which had remained unchanged since 2014. The Avdeev scenario is being repeated in New York. The role of Koksokhim is played by the phenol plant – its area is much smaller, so the Ukrainian army will not be able to hide there for a long time.
