Nicolae Dică (45 years old) is one of the coaches targeted by the recent statements of Mihai Stoica, the president of the FCSB Board of Directors: “There is no Romanian coach without a contract that I can trust”. Today, Dica replied to the former collaborator.
Nicolae Dică coached FCSB 3 times, most recently in 2022. The Red-Blues are currently looking for a coach, but the Dică variant was excluded by Mihai Stoica.
Asked about several Romanian coaches on the market, including Nicolae Dică, the FCSB official replied that “it is excluded, there is no Romanian coach I can trust at this moment, among those who are not under contract”.
Confronted by Radu Naum, the moderator of the show “Fotbal Club” from Digi Sport, with the statements of MM Stoica and asked if they had any conflict in the last term at FCSB, Dică replied that “you keep arguing, if you don't argue it's not a good job”. And to the question “did you part on good terms?”, he answered “so and so”.
Nicolae Dică answers Mihai Stoica: “It didn't affect me, I did some things there”
As for what Mihai Stoica said recently, he claims that “it didn't affect me. I can't say why he said that. I did a few things when I was there, I qualified the team for the European Spring, then I came back and took the team to the Conference League“.
Also asked about the possible return of Elias Charalambousoffered by Gigi Becali to return to the helm of the team, Dică stated that “in the short term, it's the best option”.
“He knows the team, he had a very good communication with the players. He left, Mirel came and shook them up a bit. Now they need someone like him for a month and a half.
If they want a longer-term coach, they can find another better option. As MM said, a coach who performed, foreign. I don't know what it means. I'm really curious to see who's coming,” added the former midfielder.
He is said to have coached Concordia Chiajna for the last time, in the second league, before being removed in September 2025.
