The National Meteorological Administration has issued a series of code yellow or orange strong wind alerts valid throughout the country on Sunday.
In most parts of the country, wind gusts will reach 70-90 kilometers per hour, and in some mountainous areas they may even reach 120 kilometers per hour, according to meteorologists.
Code yellow between 09:00 and 21:00
During Sunday (April 26), the wind will intensify at first in the north, northeast and center of the country, and after noon in the rest of the areas.
In the low relief areas there will be gusts of 50…70 km/h, and in the mountains of 70…90 km/h.
Code Orange between 12:00 and 18:00
In the mentioned interval, in the counties of Botoșani, Iași, Vaslui and Galați, as well as in the low-lying area of the counties of Suceava, Neamț, Bacău and Vrancea, there will temporarily be strong intensification of the wind, with gust speeds of 70…90 km/h.
Code Orange between 18:00 and 20:00
In the mentioned interval, locally in Brăila, Tulcea, Ialomița and Călăraşi counties there will be strong wind intensifications, with gust speeds of 70…90 km/h.
Code Orange between 12:00 and 21:00
In the Eastern and Southern Carpathians and in the Apuseni Mountains, at altitudes higher than 1600 m, there will be temporary strong wind intensifications, with gust speeds of 100…120 km/h.
