Donald Trump is losing support in the US. Polls show voter disappointment

More than half of Americans express dissatisfaction with Donald Trump's first year in office. The latest research shows that the level of support for the president is around 40%. and has remained at a similar level since the beginning of his term.
According to a YouGov poll conducted for CBS in mid-January, as much as 59 percent respondents do not support Trump's actions, while 41 percent expresses approval of his policy. The criticism mainly concerns economic issues, inflation and immigration policy.
Donald Trump's presidency. Public frustration and anxiety
Research results indicate that 42 percent Americans believe the country is heading in a “very bad” direction. In addition, over half of respondents admitted that Trump's rule made them concerned (54%) and frustrated (51%).
In turn, the SSRS survey for CNN revealed that 58 percent Americans view the first year of Trump's presidency as a failure. Similar conclusions come from the AP-NORC poll, according to which support for Trump is around 40 percent, and this situation has not changed significantly since the beginning of his term.
Economic problems in focus
The president's economic policy also receives mixed reviews. YouGov research shows that 44 percent respondents believe that Trump's actions have worsened their financial situation, 38 percent did not notice any changes, and only 18 percent felt improvement. In turn, nearly two-thirds of those surveyed by AP-NORC have a negative opinion about the president's economic policy.
William Galston from the Brookings Institution emphasizes that public dissatisfaction with high prices and economic pessimism contributed to the decline in support for Trump. The expert notes, however, that in areas such as immigration, the fight against crime and foreign policy, the president receives better ratings.

Doubts about foreign policy
Research also shows that more than half of Americans (54%) fear that Trump's policies will contribute to destabilization in the world. Only 32 percent respondents believe that the president's actions are conducive to global peace, and 14 percent believes that they have no major impact on the international situation.
When it comes to foreign military interventions, 56 percent respondents say Trump “went too far,” while 35 percent considers them “appropriate”. Among Republican voters, as many as 71 percent supports the president's actions in this regard.

Protests against the Trump administration
On the anniversary of Trump's inauguration as president, “Free America” protests are planned across the United States. Organizers expect that up to 12 million people may take part in the demonstrations.
As Axios reminds, approximately 7 million Americans participated in the “No Kings” demonstrations in October last year. According to a study by Harvard Kennedy School, mobilization of 3.5 percent society can significantly influence government policy.
Although the Trump administration regularly emphasizes that “the USA is the best country in the world today”, almost half of respondents (49%) believe that the United States' position on the international arena has weakened over the last year.
