According to specialists, on Friday, April 24, the wind will subside, but local intensifications will continue, with speeds of 45-55 km/h in Maramureș, Transylvania, Moldova and Oltenia.

Thermal values will be increasing in the south, southeast and partly in the center of the country, while in the rest of the regions they will remain close to those recorded the previous day. Skies will be variable throughout the day and showers will be isolated and light. At high altitudes, mixed precipitation is possible, with higher chances in the north of the Eastern Carpathians, according to the National Meteorological Administration.

The situation changes again this weekend. “On the ground we will be at the contact zone between an active cyclone and an anticyclone”, weather forecasters say.

What will the weather be like on the weekend of April 25-26

Thus, from the night of Saturday to Sunday until Monday morning, the baric and thermal gradient will intensify, against the background of a cyclone crossing the Russian Plain and an anticyclone positioned in the area of the British Archipelago, simultaneously with the descent of the polar jet over eastern Europe.

Under these conditions, on Sunday, April 26, the wind will again blow strongly throughout the country, with gusts of 45–60 km/h and locally 70–80 km/h, especially in Transylvania and Moldova. In the mountains, the wind speed will reach 80–120 km/h.

From a thermal point of view, the weather will gradually warm up until Sunday, when in the south and southeast temperatures will frequently reach 23–24 degrees and isolated 25 degrees in the Danube Meadow. From Monday, however, the penetration of a polar air mass from the north will bring a new cooling.

Forecast for May 1: rain and temperatures below normal

For the period from April 30 to May 3, which coincides with the May 1 mini-holiday, the weather will be unstable, characterized by an Omega-type blockage in the middle troposphere. It favors the transport of moist air from the Mediterranean Sea to Romania.

In these conditions, rain is expected in most of the country and modest daytime temperatures, below normal values for this period, with maximums between 10 and 17 degrees.

However, meteorologists draw attention to the fact that forecasts for a longer period of 5-7 days have a high degree of uncertainty, so the evolution of the weather during the May 1st mini-holiday may undergo changes, as there are chances for more favorable conditions.
