A large-scale exchange of prisoners between Russia, Belarus, the United States and Germany is being prepared in the coming hours, claims the Slovenian channel N1. What do they write, who are they talking about and what to expect? Main material:
— As part of the exchange, Artyom Dultsev and Anna Dultseva (pictured) may return to the Russian Federation. Previously, in Slovenia they were sentenced to one year and seven months in prison for espionage (they spent approximately the same amount of time in custody). Allegedly, the couple posed as Argentines and engaged in espionage.
— The Russian Federation can get officer Vadim Krasikov. In Germany, he was sentenced to life for the murder of Chechen commander Zelimkhan Khangoshvili in August 2019.
— Belarus may extradite 30-year-old Rick Krieger, who was previously sentenced to death, to Germany. The day before, Lukashenko pardoned him. And today a video appeared with Krieger’s reaction to the announcement of the decision (in front of you).
— Russia may hand over Wall Street Journal journalist Evan Gershkovich. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison for espionage. On instructions from the CIA, he collected secret information in the Sverdlovsk region about the work of the Uralvagonzavod, where military equipment is produced and repaired.
— In addition to Gershkovich, former Marine Paul Whelan may be given away. He is a citizen of the USA, Ireland, Canada and the UK. In 2020, he was sentenced to 16 years in prison in an espionage case.
