Which phone up to PLN 1,000? See how to buy so that you don't regret it, i.e. tips when choosing a phone

When thinking about a new smartphone, most people usually do not put the quality of the screen first. Meanwhile, it is an element with which we interact constantly. The image seen must therefore be sharp and legible in all conditions.
When choosing a new smartphone up to PLN 1,000, aim for OLED displays that ensure better readability outdoors. They should also offer a higher image refresh rate – at least 90 Hz, and optimally 120 Hz, and FHD+ resolution, typically 1080 x 2400 pixels.
However, be quite skeptical about manufacturers' promises regarding the declared maximum brightness of displays – theoretically, the higher it is, the better readability on a sunny day. In most cases, the data declared in the specifications concern measurements in unrealistic laboratory conditions. Therefore, verify them organoleptically, preferably using reliable smartphone tests.

Phone performance for PLN 1,000
In cheap smartphones, manufacturers often include technologically outdated chipsets in which processors use old cores. The archaic chipset must also work with free operating memory and data. In this situation, try to avoid phones whose processor does not have at least four Cortex-A78 or newer cores, for example Cortex-A720.
Today, it is also worth choosing smartphones with at least 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of data memory. The capacity of 128 GB may quickly turn out to be insufficient if you like to take a lot of photos or use more applications, especially games or social media. Doing so will guarantee that your new smartphone will work efficiently for the next 2-3 years.
When analyzing the specifications of a new, cheap smartphone, also pay attention to a few other things in its specifications – support for 5G networks, including virtual eSIM cards, the presence of at least a dual-band Wi-Fi 5 card, a Bluetooth 5.4 or newer module, a dual-band GPS module and stereo speakers.

What cameras are in a phone worth PLN 1,000?
A moment ago I mentioned taking photos with a smartphone. So now let's take a closer look at the topic of cameras. In this budget, you probably can't count on any super camera, but… a smartphone for PLN 1,000 will still work well in typical holiday photo sessions.
You just need to pay attention to the modules used in the cameras. Especially on the main camera. Don't look only at the number of holes, because in order to obtain a better psychological effect, manufacturers often install photographic gaps, in the form of modules for analyzing the depth of the scene or poor-quality macro modules. You can skip these right away.

Only really useful modules count: wide-angle, standard and tele. Unfortunately, in the range of up to PLN 1,000, the latter will be very difficult to obtain. However, the selected device should have a wide-angle module with a resolution of 13 MP or higher and a standard module with an accuracy of approximately 50 MP, optimally with an optical stabilization system (OIS).
Cheap phone and the issue of battery and charging
Paradoxically, in this budget the power section is usually the least of the problems. Manufacturers use power cells with a capacity of 5000-7000 mAh, which, when used with less efficient chipsets, can easily work for 1.5 – 2 days.
You won't find inductive charging functions in phones costing PLN 1,000. You have to use a cable. In this case, the efficiency of 30 W is completely sufficient. If it's bigger… the better.
All currently produced smartphones use the popular USB Type C port for charging. If your new smartphone had a different one… seriously consider choosing it.

The quality of the phone costs PLN 1,000
Most smartphones priced around PLN 1,000 have a plastic frame and a back panel also made of plastic. There's nothing to be picky about here. However, it is worth paying attention to the waterproofness of the housing so that you are not afraid to take the device out of your pocket in the rain or shake it when you want to take a photo on the beach.

The dust and water resistance of smartphones is determined by the IP certificate. It is worth choosing models marked at least IP64 or IP65 (splash and rain resistance). However, if you manage to buy a device marked IP67 or IP68 – it will be perfect. Such phones are not afraid of even complete immersion in water.

Software updates – an important and often overlooked issue
The European Union has forced smartphone manufacturers to provide software support for at least five years. Previously, many of them, mainly from China, were limited to only 2-3 years of support. They also often made rare updates. Unfortunately, we still have little influence on the latter, although there are manufacturers such as Google or Samsung who declare support for seven years and update their phones on a monthly basis.
Why update your system? Even if you don't need new features, subsequent updates also improve system security — the smartphone is less susceptible to possible attacks. Up-to-date software is also an important aspect from the point of view of using banking or company applications on the phone.
