The former Liverpool international appeared at Dinamo – Craiova with the Romania shirt on his shoulder

Bruno Cheyrou, former French international, came from UEFA to the stands of the National Arena and watched the derby between Dinamo and University of Craiova.
Retired in July 2015, after a career in which he ticked off three national team selections and appearances at Marseille, Liverpool or Bordeaux, Bruno Cheyrou (47 years old) is active within UEFA, as a member of the UEFA Technical Department, being responsible for player development.

Cheyrou entered this role in September, and at the match between Dinamo and University of Craiova he came at the invitation of the Romanian Football Federation.
He arrived at the National Arena together with Vlad Munteanu, sports director of the FRF, and another UEFA representative. The former player had on his shoulder a T-shirt of the national team of Romania, inscribed with the number 7 and his name. Then he took a seat in the stands to watch the game.
Bruno Cheyrou did his youth at Lens and Lille, making his senior debut for Lille. In 2002, Liverpool bought him. After two years on loan at Marseille (2004-2005) and Bordeaux (2005-2006). He was bought outright by Rennes in 2006. Anorthosis and Nantes then followed. And in July 2015 he retired, after 6 months at AC Boulogne-Billancourt.
He has 114 matches each at Lille and Rennes, while for Liverpool he ticked off 48 matches, winning the English League Cup. He made his debut for the French national team in August 2002, in a friendly with Tunisia. He collected two more selections. One with Slovenia (October 2002), in the 2004 WC preliminaries, and one with the Netherlands (March 2004), in a friendly.
