After the March indexation of benefits and the April payment of the 13th pension, May transfers from ZUS will be lower. The amounts will return to the “bare” amount of monthly payments, which is important information for people planning a home budget.
It is worth remembering this in the light of the next additional benefit, i.e. the 14th pension, which will be paid only in the autumn.
When will ZUS pay pensions in May 2026?
As “Fakt” explains, the daily learned the schedule of ZUS payments for the coming months. It is worth remembering that in May seniors will only receive a basic pension, without additional benefits. For example, a person with a pension of PLN 2,000 gross, who received PLN 3,443.43 in April (with the “thirteen”) will receive only PLN 1,820 in May. Such amounts will be valid until September, when the fourteenth pension is scheduled to be paid.

This is important because over a million seniors received two transfers in April. In addition to the regular pension, ZUS sent the last transfers and transfers with the “thirteen” amount on April 20 and 24. As a reminder: this year, the thirteenth prize was PLN 1,978.00 gross.
ZUS pays pensions in May. There is a new schedule
As “Fakt” explains, ZUS pays benefits on the 1st, 6th, 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th day of the month. If the deadline falls on a day off, the money goes to seniors earlier. This year, people with a deadline of May 1 will receive the transfer on April 30, which means two pension transfers in one month. The remaining seniors will receive benefits as scheduled.

As a reminder: the 14th pension is additional support for seniors, but its rules are controversial. The threshold of PLN 2,900 has not changed for years, although pensions are increasing, which means that more and more people lose the right to the full amount or the entire benefit. This leads to the so-called benefit trap that affects an increasing group of retirees.
14th pension in 2026. When will payments be made?
Payments are scheduled for September 2026, together with your regular pension or annuity. The exact schedule will be announced in the second half of the year. The benefit will go to those entitled to it automatically – you do not need to submit any documents.
Who will not receive the 14th pension in 2026? Those excluded include: seniors with suspended pensions, people with a pension exceeding PLN 4,828.49 gross, retired judges and prosecutors and people without the right to benefits on the date of determination.
