Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, along with other law enforcement officers, entered the hall during a standing ovation for the chairman of the Federation Council and the ex-governor of St. Petersburg. According to other senators, as soon as Dmitry heard that the prosecutor asked to lift his immunity, he abruptly stood up and rushed to the exit. The parliamentarian's exit was blocked and detained.
Savelyev’s colleagues said that all this happened after the decision to deprive Savelyev of immunity and consent to detention. The Prosecutor General presented copies of the criminal case materials to the Federation Council. A case has been opened in the Russian Investigative Committee.
