21 April 18:40

Since the beginning of 2026, 42 bicycles have already been stolen in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Most of the crimes were committed on the territory of the regional center – 28.

This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region and noted that most often two-wheeled vehicles disappear from entrances.

Currently, law enforcement officers have solved 15 thefts, some of the property was seized and returned to the rightful owners. Work continues to identify the stolen bicycles, as well as the persons involved.

In connection with the increasing cases of bicycle theft, police officers remind a number of rules that will help protect property:

  • Do not leave your bike unattended, even if you are away for a short time. If you do leave, be sure to secure it with a special locking device.
  • Even if there is one, do not leave your bicycle in the entrances or near your houses at night.
  • Engrave parts, wheels, frame, or apply custom stickers.
  • Take a photograph of the bike in its entirety in profile, try to remember any special features.
  • Keep the documents you received in the store upon purchase, and remember that if you purchase a bicycle without documents, you risk becoming the owner of a stolen vehicle.

“Don’t forget that most thefts are committed due to the inattention and carelessness of the owners. Be responsible for the safety of your property. If your bicycle is stolen, you must immediately contact the nearest police department or call 02/102,” the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs urged.
