In the spring and summer season, 39 percent Poles are planning renovation or major work at home, and most want to spend less than PLN 10,000 for this purpose. PLN – according to the survey by Santander Consumer Bank “Poles' own wallet: the season for spending”.

At the same time, 11 percent respondents intend to postpone such expenses for later, and 44 percent no renovations planned this year.

The study shows that consumers are mainly focused on smaller jobs and reducing costs. 63 percent respondents plan to spend less than PLN 10,000. PLN, including 36 percent assumes a budget of less than PLN 5,000. zloty. Larger expenses – over PLN 10,000. PLN – declared by 26 percent. respondents, with only 5 percent provides for expenditures exceeding PLN 40,000. zloty.

Among the respondents who plan or are considering renovations in spring and summer, the majority are people in their fifties (51%) and people aged 40-49 – 46%. this group. Such goals prevail in small towns (43%). People who have minor children under their care are much more likely to plan renovations of their four walls – 52% of them answered yes. of them compared to 30 percent respondents from households inhabited only by adults.

Most often, such works are financed from their own funds – one third of respondents use general savings, and 26 percent uses money set aside specifically for this purpose. In turn, 28 percent declares that the work will be financed from current income. Loans and other forms of external financing are of marginal importance – they were indicated by approximately 2 percent each. respondents.

The study also shows that smaller purchases related to space arrangement are popular in the warmer months. 64 percent Poles buy decorations and accessories for the home, garden or balcony, of which 27 percent he does this regularly every season.

The study was carried out on behalf of Santander Consumer Bank using the method of telephone, standardized computer-assisted questionnaire interviews (CATI), conducted by the Institute of Market and Social Research (IBRiS) on February 27 – March 5, 2026. A representative group of adult Poles took part in the study. Sample n = 1000.
